Minutes of the Meeting of Blyton Parish Council held on
Monday 31st July 2023 at 7.30pm
Present: Councillor C. Daubney, Councillor J Daubney, Councillor R. Turnbull, Councillor S. Steers, Councillor A. Codd
Also Present Helen Pitman (Clerk), WLD Cllrs L Clews & K Carless
1. Apologies and reasons given: Cllrs B. Rollett; L. Godson, & C. Quirke. Apologies were accepted. In the chairman’s absence, Cllr Steers took the chair as vice chairman.
2. Co-option of Councillor: Defer.
3. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and to receive any applications for Dispensation. Members may make any declarations at this point but may also make them at any point during the meeting: None.
4. To approve minutes of the last meeting held 26th June 2023: The date was changed to read 15th May in agenda number 3 and then the minutes were signed as a true record.
5. Clerk's report on matters outstanding: The clerk informed council that clearance and rotavating of the allotments has been undertaken by Mr Troop. Two have been taken and paperwork returned. Awaiting signed paperwork for other two.
New programmable heaters have been fitted at the parish room which should make electricity bills less, although a new one phase, 2year fixed term tariff has been agreed which due to increased energy costs is more than previous one. Council to look at installation of wi-fi so heaters can be adjusted remotely.
The phone box refurb is now complete Contractors awaiting final payment and will then re-install.
Play inspection to be carried out early August.

Resolved to pay: H. Pitman £1002.77; HMRC £86.20x2; Memorial hall £5; Gainsborough Skip Hire £250; Glendale £167.21; WLDC £132.62; J Troop £1335; L Carr Contractors £3120; Nuttall Electrical £1746.
Balance on the accounts as at 30/6/23 £121,813.83
9. Report from WLDC: Cllr Carless informed council that 7000 Acres had addressed WLDC on the Tillbridge Solar project and gave an update on Scampton.
10. To discuss further refurbishment of parish room: Local decorator to be sought on Facebook. Blinds and wi-fi to be costed and discussed at next meeting. Clerk to inspect flooring and lighting. agenda
11. To discuss refurbishment of the bus shelter: Cllr Steers said he thought a seat needed to be installed and new unbreakable material in the windows. Clerk to approach Mr Troop for cost. agenda
12. To resolve on this month's Facebook posts: Decorator needed.
13. Items of information to be noted and if necessary dealt with at the next meeting: Co-option; Remembrance Day; war memorial improvements; litter pick.
Clerk to report pothole again at village hall and check on planning application at Blyton Race Track.
With all business concluded the meeting closed at 8.48pm.
