Class1 - Who we are and what we do
Blyton Parish Council is made up of nine Councillors and a Parish clerk.
The Council has many specific powers and duties established by Parliament. The Council is interested in doing the utmost for their Community, and anything to improve the area, reviewing planning applications and being consulted by both County and District Council.

Council business is conducted at the above address, if a visit is required then please make an appointment to meet at the above address or the clerk will arrange a meet in the Council Room
   
Staffing structure
The Council employs one part time Clerk, and a caretaker for the Council Room, where the post office is also hosted.
Abuse and hostility against employees by members of the public will not be tolerated and may result in prosecution.
   
Class 2 – What we spend and how we spend it
The clerk is also the Responsible Financial Officer, and is responsible for the administration of the Councils financial affairs.
The Parish Council obtains funds by a precept presented to West Lindsey District Council, who are the body responsible for collecting local government taxes (Council Tax).
The precept is calculated by comparing amounts spent through the current financial year and budgeted projects.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives the public the right to see a range of information held by public bodies, including Local Councils. These bodies have to prepare a document which is a Publication Scheme detailing categories of information, how members of the public can access the information and any cost involved. Some exclusions relating to personal details may be exempt under the Data Protection Act 1998.

Management of the Village Hall is undertaken by an independent group from the Parish Council,
   
Parks, playing fields and recreational facilities
Playing Field is available at Sandbeck Lane and behind the village hall
   
Seating, litter bins, clock, memorials and lighting
Benching, litter bins and dog waste bins are available throughout the village, there is a clock at the Council room and a Jubilee memorial bench. The Council are responsible for maintaining the War Memorial
   
Bus shelters
A bus shelter has been provided at the Southern End of the village
   

The Council welcomes comments and views from all Parishioners either via the Clerk or at the open public forum at the beginning of each meeting.
