Minutes of the meeting of Blyton Parish Council held on Monday 30th March 2026

1. Apologies for absence: Cllr I Wilcock
2. Co-option of councillor: None Mr Gaulton was present as he has shown an interest in joining the PC.
3. To receive declarations of interest in accordance with the Localism Act 2011 and to receive any applications for Dispensation. Members may make any declarations at this point but may also make them at any point during the meeting
4. To approve the Minutes of the last meeting held on 23/02/2026: The minutes were approved as a true record
5. Clerk’s Report on matters outstanding. The electrician has been contacted regarding the radiators and will visit to check if they are working correctly, he thought they may still be under guarantee. Savilles have been contacted regarding the track to the allotments, they have stated the farmer as is willing to fill in the more severe areas with aggregate as a gesture of goodwill, any further areas of repair will be down to the parish council. Quote for cemetery tree still needs to be obtained from Lincolnshire Tree Services.

9. Report from WLDC/LCC : Cllr Reeve stated there seems to be a vague idea of where Cadent’s H2 East Pipeline will be going, Cllr Carless stated the food caddy collection has commenced, the faulty street light has been reported on Fix My Street.
10. To discuss & resolve Proposed Neighbourhood Plan for Blyton (any update): The steering group met on 23rd March a lot of information is being gathered and there is a lot to do. The group now has an email address and What’s App group. They will attend the open day on the 16th May in the village hall to promote the group. Posters are being printed for the open day. The parish council will pay the £60.00 for the booking which will come out of the groups budget. A letter has gone out to local business’s asking who they are, what they do and where they are located. The group is hoping to have a ‘wish tree’ and hopes to engage local school children.
11. To discuss and resolve Adult Keep Fit equipment: A meeting was due to take place at the playground to look at a location, and to update whether the Co-Op Community grant could be applied for to help fund this . A meeting at the playground will take place on Wednesday 1st April at 7.00pm. The clerk stated applications for the grant close on April 12th.
12. To discuss and resolve the damage caused by rabbits in the playing field. A quote from Axholme has been received for £1500 + Vat pa this would be a monthly visit, it was agreed to go ahead with the quote.
13. To discuss and resolve electricity prices for the parish room. The clerk contacted Utility Aid who were supposed to come back with info, if they don’t make contact it was agreed to contact EON next and confirm if their prices were still valid if so to go ahead with EON.
14..To discuss and resolve the use of the parish room for the knit and natter group. As there was no representative from the group this will be deferred until the next meeting.
15. To discuss and resolve LCC bus shelter grant scheme. The bus shelter at the top of Paddock Lane/Gainsborough Road was discussed for replacement, clerk to see what’s involved in applying for the grant.
16. To discuss and resolve banking issues: It was decided the clerk would enquire about opening an account with Unity Trust Bank and report back.
17. To discuss and resolve a date for the AGM: Monday 27th April at 7.30 in the village hall, Cllr C Daubney agreed to book the hall for the meeting, Cllr J Daubney requested the clerk supply a poster to advertise the AGM.
18. To discuss and resolve on this months Facebook posts. Cllr Wilcock was not present at the meeting.
19. Items of information to be noted and if necessary to be dealt with at the next meeting. Cllr C Daubney requested the allotments be discussed at the next meeting it was also decided to hold a meeting at the allotments on 17th April at 2pm.
With all business concluded the meeting closed at 8.45pm.
