Blyton Parish Council has a vacancy for a parish councillor. See below for more information.
Meetings are held monthly in the village hall on the last Monday of the month, apart from August and December.
Parish Councils make all kinds of decisions on issues that affect the local community. Probably the most common topics are planning matters, crime prevention and roads and highways. Parish councils have limited powers to make decisions but they do have the ability to negotiate with, and the power to influence, those other organisations that do make the final decisions.
The best way to find out what it’s like to be a parish councillor is to talk to someone who’s doing it now. Go along to a parish council meeting or speak with a councillor or the clerk.
If you are interested, please contact the clerk, Helen Pitman, via email helenspitman@gmail.com or phone 07955 797393.
